The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 1.0
ZebraDesigner is a program to design bar code labels.

The program can be installed in 16 different languages.

When you install it, ZebraDesigner will scan your system for installed Zebra printers.
Shouldn´t you have one installed, you´ll need to install one, otherwise the program won´t work.

Then, the Welcome Wizard will begin, offering you to edit a previously made label or create a new one.

You´ll have to select the printer that will print the label you´re designing. You can also set up the properties of this printer.

Next you´ll have to select the Label Stock you´re going to use.

Then you can set the size of the label, or auto fit the size according to the size of the desired Label Stock.

You will have then to define the label layout. It can be Portrait or Landscape, and you can choose if you want to print them rotated.

Next you will have to define the label dimensions (width, height, margin, columns...). You can use the measure units that you like best (pixels, mm, cm).

Then, you can enter the text, the barcode and you can save or print your label.

  • It´s an easy to use program to create and print barcode labels.

I'm still using label vista software to make labels in 32-bits Windows environment. From the time, I get a new 64-bits Windows environment I am looking for new software to replace label Vista which doesn't work anymore in this new environment. So I found ZebraDesigner and I'm facing a big issue, because I am able to make new labels but have no possibility to use old ones, made with label vista. And another big issue is that I can't open labels made with ZebraDesigner in a text file, it is always is a binary file.
Please let me know how to get text file instead of binary ones for new label and how I can use my existing labels with zebraDesigner.
Thank you for quick feedback and support.

    Pros: helps with designing labels...
Cons: faff to extract zpl code, re-activating a new pc is a nightmare, label dimensions don't match real life, website doesn't always work (404 errors)

It's a nice bit of software, not really worth the price... I can't see why anyone would want to actually use this in a production environment - there are no user controls, and it gives access to printer settings so anyone can mess it up.
Trying to extract the zpl code is odd, as you need to setup a file printer - why there can't be a "View ZPL Code" button I don't know...
And then we come to activation. You have to "de-activate" the licence from one machine and then enable it on another. That's fine, but when you've already given the old PC away or upgraded it (it works by hardware id via Internet, not registry or files), suddenly you can't do anything. I think it's a bit of an overkill really, as I only use it once a year to produce slightly different ZPL code for my program...
